Get Off Your Backside and Move!

Busy Mom’s Survival Guide Podcast Episode 005.
Most of us hear the term fitness and we immediately think of exercise.  But there’s a lot more to fitness than that.  Being fit affects our mood, our energy level,  our health, and our decision making.  It allows us to be the person we want to be and complete the tasks we need to complete.

Colter Plays Pickup Football

Find out how I define fitness and why it is so important to the kind of wife, mother, and friend you are.  During this podcast episode, I also share some of the ways that I stay physically fit in the hopes that they encourage you.

Colter joins me to talk about fitness and what types of physical exercises he enjoys.

  2. I enjoyed the podcast, PJ! One of the first things I do every Wed. morn. after I wake up is listen to your podcast. I look forward to them!

Thanks for the tips on how to incorporate fitness into every day life. I like how everything you share with us is so sensible and feasible. I don’t have any trouble eating the fruits & veggies, I drink plenty of water, am getting better at going to bed early, but the fitness is something I need to do more regularly.

Way to go on the push-ups and jumping jacks, by the way! That’s awesome, PJ! 🙂 Colt is power-house himself, cleaning out the stalls, carrying the feed and running! He seems to be a very disciplined young man. He was great on the podcast! Hope that he and Brett have a great time as they participate in the endurance backpacking in NC!

Thanks again for sharing, PJ! Whoo-hoo…can’t wait ’til next week’s podcast on de-cluttering! I think your podcasts were made especially for me!! lol 🙂

  3. You are my wakeup call to rearrange my life and start living! Everything is so simple and easy to do. I just needed that extra push to get me going.

  4. Enjoyed the episode. I started getting back in shape in Spring 2010 with intense workout videos that combine cardio and strength training. I have found that when I tried to do the 50 min workouts, I started skipping them but if I did the 30 min videos, I can do them daily! My goal is to do the 30 min workout daily. My 5 year old is even trying to keep up with me, just without the weights. 😉

  5. Great information this week! Mom needs to put her fitness goals on top of other jobs. I need to remember this.

  6. Great ideas on how to add exercise to my day without using large blocks of time. Thank you!

  7. Thanks! You inspired me to dance! I also did some jumping jacks this week and boy were my calves sore!

  8. Just catching up and loved this one. Curious – do you have a specific pedometer that you love? I have tried a few “cheaper” ones in the past, but they never seem to be accurate. Thanks!

    • Mine cost about $25 and we got it online, I’m not even sure where. My mom has the kind that clips to her pants because she’s always flushing them down the toilet. LOL They do have the kind that comes with a cover so it doesn’t bump against your clothes and stuff and get changed or reset. If my pedometer gets reset in the middle of the day it drives me insane!! 😉 PJ

  9. I like the Omiron pedometer. It also tracks “aerobic steps” and holds info for 7 days.
    Thanks for the peptalk PJ!
