New Website and Account Activation

Our new website is live! If you had an account on our old website, you can find instructions for activating your account on the new website here. We spent many, many hours designing and setting it up, and we hope you all enjoy the new user friendly experience.

New Food Website

About three years ago, we started selling our goat milk caramel.  Other food items such as fudge, toffee, bagels, and cheese quickly followed. Integrating these food items with our bath and body items took a lot of problem solving as the shipping needs are very different.

After much prayer, we have decided to pull these items off of our existing https://goatmilkstuff.com website and put them on a new website at https://gmssweetshop.com.

These food items will no longer be able to be shipped with your bath and body orders.  They will ship separately out of the Sweet Shop and will never enter the Soap Room.  The vast majority of people never felt like their food items tasted or smelled like soap.  But every once in a while we would get somebody with a super sensitive palette.

There will be no free shipping on this new website.  In order not to raise prices on the food, shipping will be charged.  We are doing our best to have the website accurately calculate the shipping costs, but if we are able to save you money on shipping when we actually package your order, we will refund the difference.

We are super excited to be able to offer our incredibly yummy food items!

Valentine's Day Packs

We put together a special Valentine's Day Pack for you this year! It has a full bar of our limited edition Chocolate Goat Milk Soap, a small chocolate lotion stick, and a chocolate lip balm, in a red organza bag.

See below for the Newsletter Special Discount Price.

Baby Goats

The first baby goats have arrived! Harold (right) and Helena (left) were born on the 29th, and we're all so excited for the rest of the babies to start arriving. If you'd like to see their birth, you can watch the livestream of the birth on our Facebook page. "Like" us there to be notified when we go live - we try to livestream as many of the births as we can - and you might get to name a baby goat!

In the next few months, we will have lots of kids for sale (we're expecting around 200 and we can't keep them all as much as we'd love to!) If you are interested in purchasing baby goats, we have a new goat website at https://gmsgoats.com

This website is still under construction, since Brett's wedding kept us rather busy for the past few months. You can put baby goat deposits down on the the new website, but if you have any questions, just ask!  And check back often as we are working on it diligently.

Kidding Experience

During kidding season in February and March (when the Alpine goats are having their babies), we make sure that somebody is in the barn nearly 24/7. While most of the goats will have their babies without difficulty, there will always be births with complications, and we like to be there. Now you can join us to be there for the best part of caring for goats!

A Kidding Experience is up to 5 hours in the barn with a member of the Jonas family and the goats. Depending on which shift you schedule, it includes dinner or lunch. We start in February, and the Kidding Experiences are only open for 4 to 6 weeks depending on how many goats are left to deliver.

If you've ever wanted to be on hand for a birth, click here for more information.

Tours and Baby Goat Experiences

We are offering limited Farm Tours and Baby Goat Experiences during the month of February, since so many extra hands are needed in the barns delivering baby goats. Because kidding season can get crazy, advance notice is extremely helpful, so please schedule your Farm Tour and Baby Goat Experience prior to arriving.

Goat Milk

With the arrival of baby goats, our milk supply will be rapidly increasing.  We will have milk available daily at some point in early to mid February. Until then, please email or call ahead to make sure we have milk for you.

Werst Wedding Ever

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Werst!

Brett and Mason's wedding was absolutely perfect.

The weather, while cold, was great - no snow or ice except the tiny patch that the photographer found for these pictures. The venue was wonderful, the salon did a great job with hair and makeup for all of the girls, and the photographer was incredible.

Our friend Johnathan was the videographer, and he put together this highlight video, which we have all thoroughly enjoyed.

Brett wore my dress with only a few alterations, which were done by our friend Christine.

Mason baked the cake, which was then decorated with homemade edible flowers by Emery and our friend Karyn.

Brett decided to wait for marriage for her first kiss, so the kiss that you see in the video was her first ever. We're very proud of her for holding true to her convictions, despite how hard it was to wait.

They couldn't have had a better day, and we're so happy for them.

They left the day after the wedding for a week in the Bahamas, and had a wonderful time.

We're so thankful that God brought Mason into our lives, and pray that He will bless their marriage.

Now it's back to reality for all of us! Brett and Mason bought a home only a few miles away from the farm, and will continue to work here, so we still get to see them almost every day.

We have officially survived our first wedding! Seven more to go. ;)

Homestead Happenings

January was a relatively slow month on the farm. We started the month with family descending from all corners of the country for Brett and Mason's wedding. It was absolutely wonderful getting to show them around the farm, since most of them had never visited before.

The kids also had fun introducing their cousins to one of their favorite pastimes - Creek Hockey.

After Brett and Mason got back from their honeymoon, the rest of the family began our first "stay-cation". We did a pretty good job of not doing too much work, just the necessary jobs, and spent a lot of time sleeping in preparation for Kidding Season.

And of course, we wrapped up the month with the first baby goat birth, so we know it won't be long until we have baby goats everywhere!
As always, we thank you so much for all of your support of our family and our business!
