Goat Milk Stuff
Thanks for taking the time to keep up with Goat Milk Stuff!  Here's what is new this September…

Washcloths

Christmas is coming soon and the children have been knitting up a storm (so they can earn money for Christmas presents).  We've marked the washcloths down to $5 for the month (while supplies last).  These washcloths can be used in the kitchen or bath and are made with 100% USA cotton yarn.

Holiday Scents

All of our holiday scents are now available.  The Cranberry Spice and Evergreen soaps are available year-round.  From now until the holiday season, you can also get Cider Press, Frankincense & Myrrh, and Pumpkin.

We will do our best to keep these available through Christmas, but if the demand exceeds our supply, we may run out before Christmas. Remember that our soap takes 6 weeks to cure (we don't do anything to artificially rush the curing process!) so if we have a surprise spike in demand, it takes us a while to have the soaps available again.

Goat Milk in the Farm Store

We do have goat milk available in our farm store. We have both pasteurized milk, and raw milk for pet use only. We try to keep it regularly available, but sometimes people come in and purchase everything we have.  We can bottle the raw milk pretty quickly, but pasteurized milk takes more time since it needs to be pasteurized first.

If you know you're coming to pick up milk, you can always place your order online the night before and we will set it aside for you. To order online, go the "Quick Order" page (link is at the top of the website), and scroll all the way to the bottom for the Farm Store Items.  You can also call or email us and we'll let you know if we have any in the store.

We will do our best to keep milk in the store over the winter, but since we need to dry the goats off for the last two months of their pregnancies, it depends on when everyone gets bred.  We try to stagger the breedings to keep a small milk supply year-round, but the goats don't always do things the way we want them to!

Sourdough Bread in the Farm Store

Every Friday and Saturday, while supplies last, we have fresh sourdough boules and baguettes available in the farm store. They usually sell out quickly, so make sure you arrive early to grab yours!  If there is no bread out, please ask Indigo or Jade to check the kitchen to see if any loaves are still cooling. We sometimes get too busy to restock right away!

If you want sourdough bread at another time, please call us and we can let you know if we can make it for you.  Also, if you want sourdough shipped to you, please contact us with how much you want and we can get you a quote.

On many Fridays and Saturdays we have homemade cinnamon rolls with our goat milk caramel drizzled on top, and they are delightful.  Again, if you're counting on stopping by the farm store to pick them up, a quick call or email may be a good option to make sure they are available.

New Website Look

We are busily working on improving our website.  It is getting a new look and some new customizations.  We really need your help to make the website the best it can be!!  We have a short survey that we would appreciate you filling out.  It will help us to improve the website and make sure that we are meeting your needs.  To say thanks for filling out the survey, we will choose 3 winners to each receive $25 gift certificates to Goat Milk Stuff.  Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer the survey!

Podcast Survey

Thanks to all of you who filled out the short podcast survey for me.  I got a lot of good feedback and will be praying about whether or not to re-start my podcast, The Busy Mom's Survival Guide, in 2017.  Congratulations to kirahfaye who won the free bar of soap for answering the survey.

To purchase these, you must click on the unbagged half bar link.  You will not receive the discount if you purchase a regular half bar.

Homestead Happenings

August was a very full month for the Jonases. Hewitt turned twelve, and is quite excited to be almost a teenager.

Emery started going to our community college this semester. He wasn't so sure about the whole "going to school" idea, but now that he's into it, he's doing really well and we're very proud of him!

Cross Country season started, and the boys did well at their first meet of the year!

The garden has been producing very well and we're continuing to harvest lots of healthy, organic food.

These are purple Indigo Rose tomatoes that I bought for our Indigo Rose...

It's also the start of breeding season, which means it's only five months until Alpine kidding season.  The Alpine bucks are doing well and are ready for the change of pace.  Jim caught this photo of Zamboni "smiling".  Apparently, he knows what time it is too.

The bucks in breeding season always remind us of this video.  It's pretty funny (and Emery would be very upset if he knew I was posting this!)

Of course, until we have our baby Alpine Dairy goats, we still have our baby Nigerian Dwarf goats for you to snuggle during your Baby Goat Experience when you visit the farm.

As always, we thank you so much for all of your support of our family and our business!

The Jonas Family
Jim, PJ, Brett, Colter, Emery, Fletcher, Greyden, Hewitt, Indigo, and Jade
