Discounted Soap Pieces

We periodically offer discounted soap pieces.  These are small, ugly, or end pieces of soap that are combined into 4 oz bags and for sale for $4 each. We have several bags left (mostly assorted, random scents). These are available at half price - $2 each - until the remaining discounted soap pieces are gone.

Unbagged Half Bars

It's time for unbagged half bars again!  These are available in some of our most popular scents.  They are discounted from $3.95 to $3.00 while supplies last.

Remember that these are not labeled nor are they identified in any way.  Please do not order if there will be a problem if you can't identify the soap scent.

Soap Size

Our goat milk soaps are unique in that we believe each bar should be beautiful as well as smell great and be wonderful on your skin.  To achieve this, each bar of soap has a textured top that makes it much prettier than a bar that has been cut on each side to look more mass produced.

But because each bar is unique, we do have some variation in soap size.  Our bars average 5 oz when cured for 6 weeks.  But because we often cure the soaps longer* and because of the variations with the textured tops, we have listed the minimum weight of our bars as 4.5 oz.

We've wanted to change this for a while because many of you receive bars of soap that actually weigh closer to 5.5 oz than 4.5 oz.

Going forward, we will be weighing each of our bars at bagging to make sure they are at least 5 oz.  We will not be changing the price at all since this is currently what the vast majority of our soaps already weigh.  We will be changing our website and our cards to reflect this change, but please be aware that there will be a transition period since we already have thousands and thousands of bars that have been weighed at the 4.5 size.

We just want you to know that we work super hard to make sure you are getting the best value for your money as possible!

*When cured longer than six weeks, the bar may continue to lose a tiny amount of weight, but the soap will actually last longer.

Canned Garden Produce

I've been doing Facebook Live videos of all of our garden produce and canning procedures.  A lot of people have asked if we can ship these canned goods. We can! (pun intended)

Check out this page for what we have available and to submit a request for a shipping quote.  All produce (with a few exceptions - such as the pineapple in the pineapple jalapeno jam) were grown here on the farm without any pesticides or herbicides and in lots of healthy soil.

Free The Dream Conference

I am thrilled to announce that I will be speaking at the "Free The Dream" conference in Franklin, TN this year!

The conference is being held September 7-9th and tickets are now available.  If you have an entrepreneurial dream that you want to see happen, this is a great place to learn how to make your dream a reality.

It is being hosted by my friend, Cliff Ravenscraft.  More information can be found on the Free The Dream website

Fourth of July

We've made the decision to keep the farm open on Independence Day.  We have had many requests from people who have family visiting and want to bring them by the farm to visit.  We will be open from 9-5.  We wish everyone a wonderful holiday!

Milking Goats for Sale

Now that all of the Alpine goats have given birth, we have decided to make some milkers available for sale since we only want to milk 96 for the year and we're over 100.  Since our milking machine system milks 16 at a time, we save time milking if we don't go over 96.

You can see which goats are available and get more details on the GMS Goats website at the Milkers for Sale page.

We also have some Alpine doelings available as well.

Grass Fed Stuff

You may be aware that our oldest son, Colter, and our son-in-law, Mason, have formed a company named Grass Fed Stuff.  They are raising organic, GMO-free, pastured meats including chicken, lamb, pork, and beef.

They have chickens currently available and some individual pork and beef cuts on the Goat Milk Stuff farm.  They are now taking orders for quarter, half, and whole hogs, beef, and lamb.  They are also raising another batch of chickens and offer a discount for pre-orders.

If you are interested, please reach out to them at grassfedstuff@gmail.com

If you've never tasted the difference in healthy meat or unsure why it is important to eat protein from animals raised on grass, just reach out to them and they'll be happy to get you more information!

Homestead Happenings

As always, June was another month full of new and exciting happenings on the farm!

Goat Milk Stuff finally invested in a tractor of our own. With so many young children, tractors have always made me nervous (have you seen the movie Faith Like Potatoes??).  But it was time. After 13 years of relying exclusively on wheelbarrows, it is nice to have our own piece of heavy machinery.  The tractor has been a huge help with cleaning out the new barn and moving mulch for the new garden beds.

As you may imagine, safety was of paramount importance and factored heavily into our decision on which type of tractor to purchase.

The new garden beds are coming along nicely, and people stop us every day to tell us how gorgeous it looks. I've been spending lots of time weeding, and can't wait for when the garden is finished (not that a garden is every truly finished).

We've been in the garden and in the kitchen for hours on end, picking and putting up everything from jams to salsa to pickles. We have blackberries coming out of our ears, and tons of cucumbers and zucchini.  The peppers are just starting to produce well and in another week or two we'll be seeing green beans and tomatoes in our sleep!

We had to take a day off from garden work to put up hay, and did over 1100 square bales! It was the first year that we've had our own tractor, and Greyden was thrilled to be using it. I also took a turn driving a tractor (not ours), which was a first for me.

Extra produce is available at the farm and Jim and Greyden built the cutest farm stand for us to display them.

Even though there is always more than enough to do on the farm, we took a Sunday off to hang out with some of our customers (who are great, new friends) at their lake house. We had an absolute blast going tubing for the first time, and we can't wait to do it again! Thank you for letting us come, Brent, Brian, and Lisa!

We also took a Sunday to visit my brother in Dayton, OH. My other brother came down from Michigan and we had a great day with family.

And of course, we've had to take time to enjoy dinners at the firepit. We've been grilling veggies from the garden as well, and our golden zucchini has been a hit with everyone, but especially Jim, who finally found a way that he actually enjoys eating zucchini.

Kira the goat finished out the last of our births for the next few months by delivering Kingdom and Kensington, two Nigerian Dwarf boys. They both have quite the pair of lungs, as you can tell by Kensington's open mouth. They get pretty spoiled, and are still being bottle fed several times a day along with Emilio (the tiniest one we had born this year, pictured with Indigo). You can visit our Facebook page to see them on our Facebook Live videos.

We finished the month by winning Scottsburg's Good Neighbor Award and getting a few beehives.  We've had bees in the past and Hewitt has displayed a lasting interest in them so we've hooked him up with a local apiarist (beekeeper) who is willing to teach him.

It's been a season of growth on the farm, and we are looking forward to the rest of the summer.

We hope you all take advantage of the extra sunlight hours during the summer to enjoy this time with your families.
We wish everyone a wonderful Fourth of July!

As always, we thank you so much for all of your support of our family and our business!

The Jonas Family

Jim, PJ, Brett, Colter, Emery, Fletcher, Greyden, Hewitt, Indigo, and Jade
